We've evolved our fan-favorite lightweight trail bag, MPL22, into a state-of-the-art everyday and travel backpack. It's built in three limited-edition colorways of ULTRA 200tx, a waterproof and durable performance textile that has a tensile strength, gram-for-gram, 15x stronger than steel.
We enhanced MPL22's organization with a new laptop and tablet sleeve, hidden stash pockets, and our signature side-access pocket. Combined with a brand-new Blue Flame or Electric Coral internal lining, tough aluminum hardware, and the MPL22's feature set, the Kludde Edition is our most advanced daily pack.
Limited edition collab patch included. All sales are final. Lifetime Warranty Applies.
Note: Only 150 of the Arctic Kludde color were produced.
I really love this grey backpack. Unfortunately, there was a delay in the information, and it was already sold out by the time I found out about it. I’m writing to ask if there is any possibility of restocking or producing another batch. I adore this grey version so much and would love to get one.
I went with this collaboration model for my second Evergoods backpack, mainly because the grey colorway with the blue lining is really caught my eye. I was surprised by the material is really lightweight, The strap is also incredibly comfortable—a big improvement over compare to CTB20. I absolutely love it."
My favorite Evergoods product yet! Lightweight like other Ultra bags you can find out there but with EG’a superior organization and quality construction. Only wish it was one of the ‘mirror’ styles like I have with the CPL24, but I’ve adapted to it and have used it in multiple trips already.
Have really enjoyed using the Kludde edition of the MPL22! To give you an idea of how I’ve been using it: I’m a rock climber, and this pack has accompanied me on several trips to the local crag, as well as two climbing festivals and a few day hikes with my family. It’s also become my main bag for the weight room, gym, and weekend outings, used at least three to four times per week. Overall, it’s been a joy to use.
My EDC bag is the CTB20, so I really appreciate many of the differences in the MPL. The trapezoidal shape of the main bucket works much better for cycling or scrambling, sitting naturally in the middle of the back and concentrating weight toward the bottom. I also appreciate that it offers some organizational options for laptops and tablets without separating them into a distinct compartment — instead providing a large, panel-loading bucket. The oversized water bottle pockets are especially convenient.
I love the subtle refinements in this version — the hidden pockets are fantastic, and the addition of the vertically zipped admin pocket is excellent. The premium materials are great.
My three critiques are these:
1 - I’d love for the admin pocket to include a key leash. Since that’s where I keep my admin items (wallet, flashlight, pens), that’s also where I want my keys. I’d prefer the top pocket to be dedicated to less admin-y type items like stuffing a jacket, gloves or even my snack bag.
2 - I understand the vestigial openings for drainage, but they make me hesitant to use the admin pocket for smaller items. I’d love to see those closed up.
3 - I’d really appreciate a side handle to help orient the bag when accessing the admin pocket. I understand the design is intended for on-the-go access by swinging the bag around, but when it’s off my back, I often find myself looking for somewhere on the exterior to grab while loading or unloading that pocket. I know adding a handle would require extra work on the paneling, but it would make a big difference in usability — and it could also serve as a convenient hitch point for side straps to secure items like trekking poles, camera tripods, or similar gear.
Overall, this version of the MPL22 feels thoughtfully evolved and purpose, it’s quickly become a favorite piece of gear.
Love the colors and material. Blue is fire!!!! Zippers aren’t smooth at all and the main zipper hangs a lot. The zipper on the hidden water bottle pocket stratches and hangs on bottles. The main pocket design is very hard to get into and get things in and out of. The laptop pouch has a fabric piece on both sides that hangs on larger laptops. On the plus side this backpack is more comfortable than the non ultra version.
The quality of the design, manufacturing and materials is amazing. The guys at Evergoods have magically combined an old school mountain style backpack with state of the art materials to combine something really unique. It feels like it will last for decades and has the Evergoods expertise at creating volume where it should not exist.
Highly recommended!
Love the new Ultra materials they used on the bag! It's an amazing bag with a nice upgrades! It's my new EDC bag for now. I hope they keep using the Ultra material for future bags. Light weight and waterproof! Win/ win situation!
My wife bought me the new 22L MPL Kludde (granite grey) and it was amazing! It came in handy as my dad backpack for my incoming infant. I am so glad for Evergoods and I'm rooting for you guys. I sincerely hope to get the 2L CAP accessory to keep my everyday carry items. Well done Evergoods, from Singapore.
I had the normal MPL22 but ultimately it was a bit too floppy and lacked organization for my needs. The Kludde edition solves these problems. Ultra gives the bag much needed structure, though the fabric is very stiff and crunchy. The bag even manages to stand on its own with certain loadouts. I didn't need the dedicated laptop sleeve but it's not too obtrusive and doesn't rob the main compartment of space. The extra details and premium materials make the bag feel pretty special indeed. I mean, strap keepers finally. I docked a star for the hidden stash pockets. They are incredibly frustrating to use, borderline useless, and will scratch my water bottles. I understand the goal was to add as many features as possible to justify the price, but the stash pockets are gimmicky. Thankfully they are not visible and for the most part stay out of the way.
Amazing lightweight travel EDC bag. Brought it to Tokyo for a week of travel and it worked like a charm. Very comfortable on the back and just the right amount of side pockets, including a very stretchy secured water bottle pocket. Didn’t feel there was a need for the hidden small pockets which was the only negative. Awesome bag overall.
I love the mpl22. It is super light weight, versatile, durable, and comfortable. I use it every where. Unfortunately the kludde special edition did not meet my expectations for the price. The ultra material looks nice but is too stiff. The front pocket with vertical zipper orientation does not work. It is too small and tight to be of any real use especially with the stiff material. The new inside laptop and tablet pockets are great. Would like to see this on the standard mpl22. The side stash pockets are not really usable and the water bottle pocket material is not quite as nice.
EVERGOODS bags are excellent to begin with and this bag takes it up a notch. The attention to detail in the metal zippers and buckles is best in class. I love the gray colorway and the blue interior is just the right amount of color pop. My only critique is the lack of a zipper garage for the secret pockets in the whiskey bottle pockets. Good thing whiskey bottles are normally made of glass vs metal like a water bottle. Shouldn’t be an issue. Great job Evergood and Carryology team. Another grand slam. Thank you.
tl;dr; Great looking pack, didn't work for me.
Before this I've spent significant time with: CPL 24, CTB 26, CTB 20. My favorite bag to date is the CTB 20, so when I saw that there was a vertical front pocket on the Kludde I was hoping that it could be a thinner sleeker version of the CTB 20. It's not that, but I also don't think it was supposed to be.
Things I like about the Kludde:
The material is awesome.
It's not black.
The interior is not orange.
It's a great looking bag.
Vertical front pocket
Things that didn't work for me:
1. The front vertical pocket is huge! Much bigger than the ctb 20, and I think bigger than the ctb 26. I always keep a tech pouch in the vertical pocket of me Evergoods bag, but on this one, the pocket was so big it just got lost! In testing I was able to fit two ~20oz water bottles in the front pocket which was crazy.
2. I'm not a fan of the hidden pockets. I don't think I'll actually use them as getting into them is a huge pain, and sometimes when I was trying to push a water bottle in it would get caught on the zipper.
Things that I think could be better:
The design language is a bit confused. The front vertical pocket added some "civic style" access into the MPL, but it didn't quite hit the mark. What I love about the civic line is that their whole design is revolves around side access:
Side grab handle
Side access laptop
Clamshell gives you side access to interior which also has a side pocket
Side front pocket
The Kludde has the clamshell main compartment side access to the interior "front" pocket, and introduces side access to the front pocket, but no grab handle and no side laptop access means I'm getting things out from multiple orientations. I also kept reaching for a side handle to complete the movement that wasn't there!
On the plus side I now have a deeper appreciation for the execution on the Civic line! If EG decides to release a CTB 18 I'd buy it!
I love the quality and styling of Evergoods products. I'm by no means an EDC fanatic, but I'm always impressed when a new Evergoods product arrives at my doorstep. The Kludde collab with Carryology is fantastic and the ULTRA material is very unique. I've got an OD green CTB26 that I love, and I'm excited to try out the MPL 22 now. It couldn't be any more exciting with the ULTRA material and Carryology collab.
After weeks of use, I can confidently say this is the endgame urban EDC pack — the perfect balance between technical build and city practicality. The side access pocket makes it effortless to grab tech gear while commuting by train. The vivid blue lining isn’t just cool-looking — its visibility is outstanding and genuinely improves daily usability. All the hardware is made of aluminum, which speaks for itself — durable, premium, and built to last.
For anyone carrying tech gear every day, a weatherproof shell like this is absolutely essential. I can’t imagine an EDC pack that could surpass this.
Really loving the MOUNTAIN PANEL LOADER 22L - KLUDDE. Bought for a trip to Japan and it’s been great. The details and the fabric are the real stand out. I especially like the blue interior and the strap keepers.
Unbelievable outdoor pack! Traveled from Tampa, Florida, to Calgary and then a week hiking in Banff and jasper National park. This pack performed well as my tech and laptop carry as well as ten-plus mile hikes. Beautiful and functional design
