The first thing to go during our back panel re-development was the foam. What traditional foam provides in terms of cushion and structure, it totally lacks in air-permeability. Like ZERO. Replacing this foam with a very thick and very open spacer mesh provided an airy cushion. Then covering it with a 50d monofilament woven improved durability and made it less abrasive on skin and clothing. It took 3 years of outside-the-box material sourcing, lab evaluation, and field testing, but I think you’ll be blown away by the breathability!
