I want to preface that this is a 4-star bag for me with 5-star construction and 3.5- or 4-star usability, but it could easily be a person's beloved daily carry. A couple of notable pros: the sling is sturdy and comfortable to wear (the breathable mesh is a great design!). The strap is the perfect width for weight distribution, and the buckle is easy to access when the bag is pulled across my chest---I wear this over my right shoulder and under my left armpit. The front Velcro lets me slap a silly morale patch on the bag, and I love it. It's solidly water resistant. All that said, I have cycled through a number of similar slings trying to find my Goldilocks, and this is not quite it. The big want for me beyond inner organization is maximum ease of access to my keys from an easy-zip front pouch. I don't want to fumble while wrangling a toddler, and the dump pouch here, while easy to open, puts me at risk of dropping something I would have preferred to store in the inner volume while freeing keys from the mix. Speaking of the inner volume, I would have loved to steal a bit from the front to give a wider midsection between organization pouches. Especially when full of bumped out items like an Anker Nano charger or misc. daily carry items like a SAK and lighter, the space to slide my phone or my 3DS (still going strong!) started to feel a little too snug. Not unusable, though. The dump pouch itself contributes to this, because the presence of items there can distend the inner zip pouch with mesh pockets toward the middle volume. I'm sure someone out there is saying "get a bigger bag, stupid," and I have. But this bag is right on the cusp of graduating from pocket-reliever to a pleasantly stuffed every-day bag for me. I never had plans to return this and don't now; I am sure my wife or brother will get good use out of it. But it's not the best fit for me. May we all some day be fortunate enough that a bag not quite fitting our needs is the most of our worries!

This is a “buy it for life” quality bag that justifies the price. Fits everything with great organization options. Would be nice to have a divider or something to separate the keys from everything else in the big front pocket to prevent them from getting tangled or scratching sunglasses.

Recently, I made the decision to change my travel carry strategy to accommodate some of the lingering issues I have from a well lived younger life. During this time, I watched a lot of reviews and came across Evergoods. Being a Marine Corps vet the look of the gear drew my attention I ordered the Xpac/coyote version of the CAS 2L and while waiting for it in the mail, I fell through my ceiling and broke 3 ribs. When the CAS arrived it started helping me immediately. I moved all of my EDC over to it, Because having weight in my pants pockets just hurt. The CAS takes that weight and moves it to my shoulders on the opposite side giving me a perfect solution. Even after I heal this will be part of my carry. I couldn’t be happier or more satisfied with the form, function and overall awesomeness of these bags. I have other products which will get reviewed right after this one. You have earned a new customer.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L - X-Pac

I have been using the CAS2 every day since I received it, and it has very quickly become one of those pieces of gear that makes me wonder how I managed without it before. And I really mean every day. I take it to the office, shopping, traveling, concerts and raves. Whether I am walking, cycling, riding a scooter, taking a bus or traveling by train, it is almost always with me. For me, the CAS2 has essentially become an extension of my pockets. It holds not only my wallet, but much of what would otherwise be distributed between my pants and jacket pockets — plus quite a bit more. This is probably the biggest change it has made to my everyday carry: instead of constantly deciding what goes into which pocket, I have one compact place for everything. I also appreciate how easily I can change the carry position depending on the situation. I can wear it on my back when walking or cycling and move it to the front in crowded places. At concerts or raves, wearing it in front also works much better for me than a traditional shoulder bag. It stays close to my body, feels secure, and doesn’t hang at my side where it would constantly bump into other people while dancing. What makes the CAS2 exceptional, however, is not just the way it carries but its organization. The elongated layout works extremely well. I carry my phone, a wallet, a flat power bank, cigarettes and a lighter, AirPods, and several smaller essentials. The organization in the smaller compartment is particularly good. The open drop-in pockets give me immediate access to frequently used items, while the three zippered pockets on the opposite side — two smaller mesh pockets and one long pocket — are probably my favorite feature of the entire sling. I use them for medication, Band-Aids, my hearing aid case, Loop ear protection, 3M earplugs, and a small knife. Everything has its place and, most importantly, is securely contained even if I accidentally pick up or open the sling in the wrong orientation. I also really like the exterior fabric. It feels substantial, durable and premium without making the CAS2 unnecessarily stiff. The wide, well-integrated strap and the overall shape make it comfortable to carry, while the relatively flat profile keeps it from feeling bulky. My only real limitation is capacity. I tend to carry quite a lot, and 2 liters can become tight very quickly. I would absolutely buy a “CAS2.5” or “CAS3”: essentially this exact sling made a little wider, with around 2.5–3 liters of capacity, while keeping the same internal organization and overall design. Please don’t change the formula — just give us a little more of it. For me, the CAS2 is an outstanding everyday sling. It has become part of my daily routine in a remarkably short time, and I now take it almost everywhere.

Love this! The size is perfect for EDC. The X-PAC with Coyote Brown is sizzling, and the other colors look good too. The zippers have a premium feel that always zip smoothly. I sized down from a previous bag that was flashy and nice, but not as functional. This has enough space to where it doesn’t weigh you down. For hiking and some larger items, the mountain version is also appropriate! From time to time there are sales — snag this when you can. My very small gripe is that I wish they’d used the bigger zipper from the main cavity on the back cavity as well, instead of the smaller zipper. Not a reason to hesitate tho!

I purchased the Civic Access Sling 2L to use while exploring on vacation and for everyday trips around town. As a parent of young kids, I've learned it's always helpful to have a few extra essentials within easy reach. Despite its compact size, it easily carries my phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a portable battery, and charging cable, with room left over for all the random things my kids inevitably hand me throughout the day. It's comfortable to wear, keeps everything organized, and makes it easy to access what I need without digging through a backpack.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L - X-Pac

The EG product I use the most (almost daily). A balance of organization and generic space that allows you to carry what’s in your pockets and much more. I carry iPhone, keys, wallet, Kindle paperwhite, charger, sunglasses, small notebook, Tide marker—with additional room to spare. The feature I love the most is the bag’s versatility in sling or hip pack mode. In my opinion it excels as a hip pack, but can still function well as a sling. I’ve not used another combo bag that can do both as well as the CAS. The xpac material gives the bag a look and structure that makes it an overall cleaner and better look than the normal 840D version.

For me, this is a good size. It’s just big enough to get my larger wallet in it, and not be too stuffed/tight. The separate rear compartment is nice to help organize items - separate them from the main compartment. I can use this to put a few items in, or load it up with more stuff. It doesn’t roll over as bad as some designs when you stuff it full and use it as a waist pack. The material is VERY nice. This was one of the main reasons I bought this one. The webbing belt is very easy to adjust quickly to go between carrying over a shoulder and using as a waist pack. I’ll quickly move it depending on what I’m doing. The buckle is nice and secure - it’s not going to accidentally come loose. Going for a longer walk to take pictures, I can carry a few items, separate them, have a few spare batteries, some lens cloths, put my keys, wallet, maybe a granola bar or something in there. Overall a little small to stuff a mirror less camera in there, although you can. I just carry it on its own strap. The rear padding is nice and comfortable. This was my first one, and ended up buying the 3.5L (used), and the 1L. Wish the 3.5 had the outside material this one has, but then it would be a pretty bulky/heavy pack…. The lighter material on the 3.5 shows dirt more than this one does. THIS one is a great balance between durability/size/weight. If I ever lose mine, I’ll buy another to replace it.

I carry it both ways and it is very confortable. The fabric and hardware are great, feels very strong. The organisation is well built, simple and effective. CIVIC Access Sling 2L

Design is excellent. Materials are expensive feeling, but after using this for a while, I honestly prefer a good Cordura fabric. This special stuff they use is crinkly, stiff, it nearly feels like thick paper. But, it’s highly water resistant and overall well made. The interior is an awesome blue colour that got me in the pictures pretty bad that I just wanted it. The metal buckle is very premium feeling and better than the best plastic or nylon buckles. I like using this over my backpack for quick trips to the market or just general errands. It easily carries my keys, wallet and phone. Keys are always a bit of an issue as I have a large key fob (BMW) and it’s just oversized, not fitting into some pockets in bags. But this waist pouch swallows it up nicely. My only real con is the price. After purchase, shipping, currency exchange and duty/tax, it was quite a spendy purchase for a Canadian. But, I try to look at this as it will likely last me the rest of my life - barring a freak accident - so, in that sense, it is one of those items where I doubt I will find anything better and chuck this aside into the bowels of a dark closet. For a waist pack, this will be my staple for a very long time.

My first ever Carryology Collab product. I was hesitant on the Ultra fabric; however, I absolutely love the feel of it. The crinkle is not as loud as I’ve read online. I would not say it’s a fabric for everyone, but I glad I made the leap of faith into this product. The blue interior is surprisingly a solid pick! I now prefer it over any orange interior. Aside from the fabric and interior, the CAS2 turned out to be my favorite sling of all time. I’ve had a few sling in the past from various companies, but ultimately, I would recommend this over all others.

This sling has caused a huge issue for me - my pockets are now empty, so I get paranoid that I lost my stuff. But it's only because this sling bag fits all my essentials so well that I no longer need to stuff my pockets. The material is also incredible - I spilled an entire water bottle in the big pocket, and all it took was turning it over for all the water to pour out. The inside of the bag was then perfectly dry.

So happy I was able to snag one of these before they go out of stock. An absolutely beautiful sling with quality materials and the custom Kludde patch looks amazing. I wasn’t sure I was going to love the blue interior but it definitely isn’t as loud in person as it is in pictures and looks great. I get many compliments wearing this out. Highly recommend you get one before they’re gone!

The absolute perfect companion to my xpac CTB20. I love the coyote brown interior and I got a custom made coyote brown patch. Check out AlpinHound on Etsy to create your own. I’m considering swapping out the duraflex buckle for a AustriAlpin cobra buckle also in Coyote Brown which I think would really make it pop!

Am I a sling guy? I wasn't sure. Grabbed this bag for a 10 days / 2 cities European trip and it was absolutely dynamite. Fit just enough - including emergency rain shell which came in handy by the north sea a bunch times - never too much. Not heavy. Very comfortable to carry. Passport secure. Loved it. I’m a sling guy. 5/5.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L

Really like the design of this. I much prefer this approach of having a tighter pocket close to the body with a bigger compartment in the front compared to how most slings seem to do it. I thought I would use it daily, but turns out I'd rather use pockets or a backpack for more items. That said, this is really ideal for a 1.5 bag travel situation, where I'll pair this with a travel backpack.
