CIVIC Access Sling 2L

I have been using the CAS2 every day since I received it, and it has very quickly become one of those pieces of gear that makes me wonder how I managed without it before. And I really mean every day. I take it to the office, shopping, traveling, concerts and raves. Whether I am walking, cycling, riding a scooter, taking a bus or traveling by train, it is almost always with me. For me, the CAS2 has essentially become an extension of my pockets. It holds not only my wallet, but much of what would otherwise be distributed between my pants and jacket pockets — plus quite a bit more. This is probably the biggest change it has made to my everyday carry: instead of constantly deciding what goes into which pocket, I have one compact place for everything. I also appreciate how easily I can change the carry position depending on the situation. I can wear it on my back when walking or cycling and move it to the front in crowded places. At concerts or raves, wearing it in front also works much better for me than a traditional shoulder bag. It stays close to my body, feels secure, and doesn’t hang at my side where it would constantly bump into other people while dancing. What makes the CAS2 exceptional, however, is not just the way it carries but its organization. The elongated layout works extremely well. I carry my phone, a wallet, a flat power bank, cigarettes and a lighter, AirPods, and several smaller essentials. The organization in the smaller compartment is particularly good. The open drop-in pockets give me immediate access to frequently used items, while the three zippered pockets on the opposite side — two smaller mesh pockets and one long pocket — are probably my favorite feature of the entire sling. I use them for medication, Band-Aids, my hearing aid case, Loop ear protection, 3M earplugs, and a small knife. Everything has its place and, most importantly, is securely contained even if I accidentally pick up or open the sling in the wrong orientation. I also really like the exterior fabric. It feels substantial, durable and premium without making the CAS2 unnecessarily stiff. The wide, well-integrated strap and the overall shape make it comfortable to carry, while the relatively flat profile keeps it from feeling bulky. My only real limitation is capacity. I tend to carry quite a lot, and 2 liters can become tight very quickly. I would absolutely buy a “CAS2.5” or “CAS3”: essentially this exact sling made a little wider, with around 2.5–3 liters of capacity, while keeping the same internal organization and overall design. Please don’t change the formula — just give us a little more of it. For me, the CAS2 is an outstanding everyday sling. It has become part of my daily routine in a remarkably short time, and I now take it almost everywhere.

I purchased the Civic Access Sling 2L to use while exploring on vacation and for everyday trips around town. As a parent of young kids, I've learned it's always helpful to have a few extra essentials within easy reach. Despite its compact size, it easily carries my phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, a portable battery, and charging cable, with room left over for all the random things my kids inevitably hand me throughout the day. It's comfortable to wear, keeps everything organized, and makes it easy to access what I need without digging through a backpack.

For me, this is a good size. It’s just big enough to get my larger wallet in it, and not be too stuffed/tight. The separate rear compartment is nice to help organize items - separate them from the main compartment. I can use this to put a few items in, or load it up with more stuff. It doesn’t roll over as bad as some designs when you stuff it full and use it as a waist pack. The material is VERY nice. This was one of the main reasons I bought this one. The webbing belt is very easy to adjust quickly to go between carrying over a shoulder and using as a waist pack. I’ll quickly move it depending on what I’m doing. The buckle is nice and secure - it’s not going to accidentally come loose. Going for a longer walk to take pictures, I can carry a few items, separate them, have a few spare batteries, some lens cloths, put my keys, wallet, maybe a granola bar or something in there. Overall a little small to stuff a mirror less camera in there, although you can. I just carry it on its own strap. The rear padding is nice and comfortable. This was my first one, and ended up buying the 3.5L (used), and the 1L. Wish the 3.5 had the outside material this one has, but then it would be a pretty bulky/heavy pack…. The lighter material on the 3.5 shows dirt more than this one does. THIS one is a great balance between durability/size/weight. If I ever lose mine, I’ll buy another to replace it.

The cas2 is now my daily carry. I bought it to try because it seemed different from other brands and it absolutely replaced all other slings/waist bags. I carry it both ways and it is very confortable. The fabric and hardware are great, feels very strong. The organisation is well built, simple and effective. I travel a lot so I got the cas1, mhp 3.5 and cap1. Well done Evergoods, great products.

Really like the design of this. I much prefer this approach of having a tighter pocket close to the body with a bigger compartment in the front compared to how most slings seem to do it. I thought I would use it daily, but turns out I'd rather use pockets or a backpack for more items. That said, this is really ideal for a 1.5 bag travel situation, where I'll pair this with a travel backpack.

Perfect fit, but needs a longer strap. The CAS2L is almost the perfect sling. It is incredibly lightweight and, true to Evergoods' reputation, the contouring is spot on. It hugs the body comfortably whether I’m wearing it high on the chest or on my back. The 2L size is the "Goldilocks" zone (not too bulky, but holds all the essentials). My only complaint is the strap length. It’s a bit too short, which makes it feel tight if you’re wearing a heavy jacket or have a broader frame. I really hope Evergoods considers making the strap longer in future versions or offering a branded extender for purchase. If the strap were just 6–10 inches longer, this would be 5 Stars.

Incredible burly and high-quality small sling. The rear admin compartment is probably my favourite of any sling, but I didn't love the larger main compartment as much due to the crescent shape and the possibility for smaller things to fall out when worn diagonally (if you store larger/softer things here, you should be fine though). As a stand-alone item it was great and functional, but I like to pack my slings inside other bags, and for that the shape wasn't the most efficient. I would also say that this sling has a high degree of "visual bulk" for its capacity (which I think ties in to the aesthetic it's going for, I guess it's just not what I prefer).

I picked this up from a small store in Japan and didn’t expect to like it as much as I do. It sits close to the body and moves with you instead of bouncing around (i wear it high and tight), which matters more than I thought for daily carry. Access is fast and intuitive for phone, wallet, and keys. Perfect for keeping a light, intentional EDC.

Having owned several slings, I can safely say that the CAS outperforms all of them in terms of comfort and carry capabilities. Its ergonomic form factor means that not only does the sling sit very well on body or hip but that access to the compartments are a breeze and easy to open (even one handed). Organisation within is just right for my use case as I am not easily inundated with a myriad of smaller slip pockets or compartments as with other brands. This all makes for a very easy and quick and hassle free wearing and use experience and the CAS has since become my everyday go to.

I've tried many slings. What I live about the CAS2 is the attention to the build geometry. The shape makes it curve around my body better than others. Storage is great. Love the large area for quick larger items and plenty of storage in the second pocket. Also love that the buckle is to one side. COB X-pac buckle is in the middle which i dont like. I only wish is there was some anchor points for hanging things like sanitizer or small pouches. Still great straight forward edc bag.

I stupidly bought another sling before this one, and I found I didn’t use it consistently. I liked the idea of a sling, so did the right thing and went with this one. I now use it all the time. The size and layout make this bag very functional and perfect for emptying the pockets plus a little more. It is comfortable to wear and low profile. This bag has cemented my opinion of Evergoods as the maker of the most functional bags.

I wear this as a crossbody sling when I travel or walk around town and I use one when cycling since it sits comfortably on my lower back while I ride. The buckle placement is nice and the strap management is decent. I end up with some bulk near the buckle when I wear it as a fanny pack since it’s pretty tight and there’s a lot of extra strap but that’s not really a problem as a sling. I have the ballistic nylon and X-PAC versions and both have their use in my opinion. I like the X-PAC for cycling since it’s more protected from rain but I love the feel of the ballistic nylon.

Very nice little hip pack/sling/fanny pack. If you're on the fence of getting one I highly recommend it. This material is more malleable than the Ultra and X-pac so keep that in mind when you go shopping the different CAS 2 materials. I absolutely loved using this one when I used it ( I now use the Ultra version ) but absolutely fantastic nonetheless.

Solid quality. The lack of dedicated phone pocket is a deal killer for my needs. Iphone Plus does not fit in current 'phone pocket.' It kind of amazed me. They should clearly state this in description. In video, he has a tiny outdated phone. Hey, all good, but... only afterward did I take another look. So, you have to put plus-phone models in middle of the Cas2. Or in the zipper section. (If zipper section, you have to unzip two zippers to put phone away.) Either way, you end up having other items push out against phone from either side. That would be OK, but it's surprisingly very narrow in there. If you carry hard uneven things like a multi tool or pocket knife--they bulge out and can scratch phone screen--or just crowd it. The materials used are thin (in middle) or rough ( in zip portion). The zipper-pocket materials are very rough and will scratch phone screen. It's great for other purposes, but not 'where does my phone go??' You can see it became a head scratcher for me. It may seem like no big deal, but anyone choosing this case is a particular person. When I had the case in hand, I was kind of stunned that it does not prioritize a phone. Max size phones are common. It seems to be designed for people who don't carry knives or multi tools or anything even slightly thick. Yes, there's a dump pocket, but that is not good for such items. That's for sunglasses case or keys or whatever. So, again, solid quality. To elongate the phone pocket is a simple solution. I'd probably have kept it. But really, it's not designed for anything of even slight bulk--unless you don't mind dump-pocket. My multi tool and knife were carefully chosen so I can't just have them bouncing around. This is a very small very tight case other than the dump pocket. Anyway, great service and only good vibes.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L

I've had this bag about a month and I'm very happy with it so far. It's incredibly well constructed and the materials are quality and nice to the touch. It zips and unzips easily. It's comfortable to wear - I wear it mainly slung around to my back - and I can maneuver it to my side or front to access the contents without trouble. I debated choosing this original version or the x-pac for a while, but I'm happy I went with this because the nylon seems durable, doesn't look too "deflated" even when packed lightly, and makes no noise when moved or rummaged around in, which was a concern of mine with the x-pac. I think it's worth the price for how quality and comfortable it is, and looks pretty sleek with almost whatever I wear. However, for anyone on the fence about this size or a larger bag, I will note it doesn't carry much. For example, in the smaller compartment I keep a Leatherman multitool, a lighter, and my wallet; in the larger front compartment I keep pepper spray, a shopping bag, my sunglasses, and my keys. It fits all these items with room to spare, but I don't particularly like packing my phone in, since the other items kind of bulge into it, or my Kindle, which technically fits but feels tall for the dimensions inside. It's not great as a tech pouch, more for small items if you'd like to carry more than your pockets fit. When I go out with a notebook, Kindle, physical book, anything of that nature, I obviously take a larger bag.

CIVIC Access Sling 2L

I’ve owned this bag for several months; I don’t typically write reviews, but in this case, I felt I had to. This bag is truly excellent. It has become my most used bag. The build quality is superb, the organization is spot on, and the aesthetics are just right. The rear zippered pocket is perfect for flat or slim things–pocket notebook, receipts, pens, etc.–along with a coiled charging cable or two, and the front pocket holds far more than I thought it would–more than other 2 liter packs seem to be able to accommodate. Ergonomically this bag is likewise excellent. Because it is long, even when fully packed out, it remains close to the body. I wear it both cross-body and as a waist pack. Both orientations are comfortable–walking and on a bike–and I appreciate being able to change up the orientation throughout the day. The bag is big enough to hold what I need without being so big that it becomes cumbersome or that I regret taking it with me (which sometimes happens with even small backpacks, which, despite their utility, don’t fit in everywhere this sling bag can.) I find the strap to be cleverly designed and just right for my use case. I have it set for cross-body wear, and a quick pull of the strap tightens it for waist-pack wear. I have found this quick-change feature to be especially useful in urban settings; other bags take too long, or take too many steps, to adjust the strap from waist pack to sling. This one is just right. The 840d solution-dyed black ballistic nylon has a slightly lower sheen than some other nylon packs; it doesn't quite look like canvas, but it doesn't look overly shiny and technical, either, and I've come to think of it as the "perfect" material. It checks as many boxes as you could reasonably expect, and it looks great while doing it. I've tried a few waist packs/sling bags by other makers, and the CIVIC Access Sling 2 L is the best by a wide margin.

Great versatile kit. Currently I am using it as my portable office. All I have to go is throw this in my bag with my laptop and I am good to head to the office, coffee shop, etc and work out of anywhere. It has great organization that lays flat or moves out of the way if you don't need it. I also used this as a portable DM kit for running some role playing games. Thinking of getting another one to be a toiletry bag for travel. Love the dual zippered section for pens or other smaller random things.
