Position Overview:
The Product Developer works on a team with the Designer and Sample Technician to create standardized documentation of product styles that are developed in-house. The Product Developer uses this documentation as the foundation and reference point to transfer styles to factory partners where they are made ready and approved for bulk production. This process follows a regular structure of reviews, tollgates and milestones that must be calendared and managed by the Product Developer to ensure accurate and on-time completion of each project.
Training:
The Product Developer will spend the first 100 days of employment sewing samples of in-line Evergoods product styles. In addition to teambuilding, the purpose of this training period is to foster intimate familiarization with the details of Evergoods core styles, construction standards, document standards, and the shop environment. This “product first” perspective is the necessary lens that informs the collective output of the Product Creation Team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Factory and Raw Material vendor coordination
Creation and maintenance of the product Tech Pack including the Bill of Materials (BOM)
Conduct sample reviews and create reports for development and approval of factory counter-samples
Creation and execution of the Development Calendar
Creation of final product QC documentation
On-time delivery and continued support of all production documents related to assigned category(s)
Introduction and handoff of new styles to the Quality Team
Areas of Support:
Product SPEC update and maintenance
Lab dip and color evaluation
Sewn sample or mock-up creation
Raw material procurement for the shop
Relevant Skills:
3+ years of experience developing cut & sew product (preferably equipment)
Genuine interest in luggage and equipment products, raw materials, and the detail required to develop both to a very high standard
Experience and familiarity with sewn construction and assembly
Experience and familiarity with cut & sew manufacturing
Experience effectively communicating with domestic and overseas vendors and manufacturers
Strong written and spoken communication in English
Strong organizational mindset
Ability to work with calendars and timelines
Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc)
Google Workspace tools (Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, etc)
Smartsheet (or similar) organizational software
Adobe Illustrator
Measurement in fractional inches and metric decimals
Simple photography for use as sample review reference
