ROLE:
The Quality Coordinator will oversee the production phase of product creation from tech pack handoff to delivery of finished goods to the Evergoods DC.  The Quality Coordinator will work closely with factory partners to resolve production difficulties and delays, address quality issues on the factory floor and in finished product, and be a conduit between our factory partners and the rest of the Evergoods team.  The goal will be to minimize quality issues in finished product by working upstream with factory partners during the manufacturing phase.  Broadly speaking the Quality Coordinator will be responsible for on-time factory exit of 1st quality finished goods.

Early on, this will be an all-encompassing role.  As production volume grows this role may be divided up into more specialized and focused job descriptions. 

DUTIES:

  • Based on the forecasted order plan received from the Sales Team, the Quality Coordinator will build a calendar of factory exits to have product in-warehouse in time for the desired launch schedule.  This plan is subject to review by Operations as it will need to take warehouse capacity and cash planning into consideration.
  • The Quality Coordinator will communicate Tech Pack delivery deadlines for each planned exit to the Head of Product so that all product specifications may be completed by the Product Team and submitted to factory for on-time production start and exit. 
  • The Quality Coordinator will work closely with all factory partners to resolve and have visibility into any production difficulties or delays.
  • The Quality Coordinator will conduct quality inspection of all goods prior to factory exit.  This will require regular travel to overseas manufacturing operations and implementation of AQL Quality Inspection procedures.  Any quality issues that need to be remedied will be coordinated and executed by the Quality Coordinator with the approval and visibility of Evergoods Product and Sales Teams.
  • The Quality Coordinator will have a strong eye for detail.  He/She will have a systematic and process-driven approach to quality control and an intimate understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the manufacturing environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communication conduit between Factory Partners and Evergoods Teams
  • Creation and execution of the Production Calendar
  • Conduct Quality Inspection of all production runs and implement remedy plan for Quality issues as required
  • Creation and maintenance of the Quality Inspection checklist for each style
  • Audit and onboarding process of new Factory Partners
  • Keep and maintain inventory of current PP samples to ensure accurate references are available

AREAS OF SUPPORT:

  • Advise the Product Team on factory strengths and weaknesses
  • Advise the Product Team on areas of production difficulty related to specific styles
  • Assist Product Team in formulating and implementing production-appropriate solutions to design problems

RELEVANT SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of working in and exposure to cut & sew production environments
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills
  • Genuine interest in high quality cut & sew goods and the desire to manufacture to a very high standard
  • Experience and familiarity with sewn construction and assembly
  • Experience and familiarity with cut & sew manufacturing
  • Ability to work and communicate in a culturally diverse environment
  • Strong written and spoken communication in English
  • Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc)
  • Measurement in fractional inches and metric decimals
  • Simple photography for use as sample review reference or documentation
  • Must maintain a current and valid US passport for international travel

WORK STRUCTURE:

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
  • This position may require working off-hours outside of regular office hours
  • In-office hours will be flexible and variable
